With a snap of your fingers, an ice spike flies out to a point you choose within range, blossoming with a quiet cracking into a sphere of frost. Each creature in a 20-foot radius must make a Dexterity saving throw.
A target takes 4d8 cold damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Additionally, the target will be partially frozen based on how far below the DC they rolled. The effects last until the start of their next turn.
The frost spreads around corners and freezes medium or smaller objects in the area that aren’t worn or carried.

1 to 3 below DCTarget's speed is dropped by 10 feet
4 to 6 below DCTarget's speed is dropped by half and they can't fly
7 to 9 below DCTarget is Restrained by ice
10+ below DCTarget becomes paralyzed by being entombed in ice
At higher levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 3rd.
