Nynx

Nynx (not to be confused with mermaids, -men, sirens or the extinct triton) are one of the two ancient races alongside the kyre and were created by Anolyth to guard the seas. They are very tall and have a strong build by nature and classes such as fighter, monk or barbarian are therefore the most common among their ranks.
Nynx have both scales and hair and grow a fin around their legs when entering bodies of water that are deep enough.

age: All nynx mature at the same rate as humans but live to be around 700 years old.

Deep Nynx

Deep nynx have their cities under the surface of the water and that's also where they feel most comfortable. All deep nynx have a fish tail when in water, but not all can develop legs when on landmass. They have gills as well as small lungs and their skin is scaley but smooth, regular skin may appear on some deep nynx, covering some areas. Their natural scale, skin and hair colors are on a blue, green or purple spectrum.
Most deep nynx are very tall, ranging from 6 to 8 feet and weighing around 170 pounds due to their broad natural build.

alignment: Deep nynx vary from good to evil, though most of them are opposed to chaos; They prefer order.

Sun Nynx

Due to the regular involvement of sun elves with deep nynx, none of the two races have developed to be dominant in procreation, leaving their children with some traits from both sides. Sun nynx are 5 to 7 feet tall.
ability score increase: Your Charisma score increases by another 1, and another score of your choice increases by 2 as well.

alignment: Most sun nynx are of good nature, no matter if lawful, chaotic or something in between.

speed: Your base walking speed and swim movement is 30.

Skill Versatility. You gain proficiency in three skills that each require either an Intelligence or Charisma check.   Keen Senses. You are proficient in perception checks.   Steaming Scales. As a bonus action, after every time you go into water that fits your whole body and come back on dry ground, you can use the heat from your sun elven heritage to turn water saved between your scales into hot steam that fogs up the area in a five foot radius around you giving everyone in that space disadvantage on physical attacks until the fog dissipates at the end of your next turn.
During this period, everyone who starts their turn in this fog must make a constitution saving throw or take 1d4 fire damage.

Darkvision. You have superior vision in darker conditions. In dim light, you can see 60 feet as if it was bright light, and in total darkness as if it was dim light. However, you can only see shades of gray.   Aquatic Nature. You are resistant to fire magic.
