Ecology

Environment: Carnivals, Circuses
Organization: Carnival
Treasure: Roll Twice on the Clown Loot Table

A larger than usual clown, more than capable of filling his baggy trousers without the assistance of an oversized hoop and frequently bursting through his shoes with horrible brown woolen socks.   A creature of any race can be a Ladder Clown. Ladder Clowns exclusively present as male or androgynous.

Typically standing several inches taller than his Carnivoid companions, the Ladder Clown wields a 10ft ladder with terrifying incompetence. He wanders the grounds, looking for doorframes to carefully balance a whitewash bucket on, tent rigging that needs to be expertly mis-tied, and tiny walls that need to be scaled and subsequently fallen over.   In combat the Ladder Clown is as much a danger to his allies as his enemies, as his Ladder Spin ability causes him to hoist his ladder onto his shoulders and spin it around whenever he changes his objective or is forced to change direction (such as by a spell or ability that forces him to attack a particular target, for example). This attack automatically hits any character in the middle of a Performance or Acrobatics action, potentially interrupting other Clown actions.   He makes up for this by being relatively tough, with a higher HP pool, AC, and damage dice than most other Ordinary Clowns
