Requires Attunement
The gentle wave of this glaive-like wan shen makes it surprisingly ergonomic. It makes a satisfying woosh like a rushing river as it cuts through the air.
Sentience. Current is a sentient lawful neutral weapon with an Intelligence of 15, Wisdom of 21, and Charisma of 16. It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 120 feet. The weapon communicates telepathically with its wielder and can speak, read, and understand Common, Elvish, and Primordial (Aquan).
Personality. The flow ghost of an ancient Matua Ka’i Siverain inhabits Current. The weapon speaks to its wielder in that long-deceased Siverain’s voice. It encourages its wielder to strive for personal excellence and find serenity in the midst of chaos.
Dormant
The weavelance grants the following benefits in its dormant state:
- You can speak, read, and write elvish and aquan
- You gain a +1 to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon.
- The weavelance has 3 charges, and regains 1d3 charges daily at dawn. You can expend 1 charge to cast Create or Destroy Water (2nd level) from the weavelance.
- Power Flux. When you hit a creature with an attack roll using this weapon, you can use a bonus action and expend 1 charge to gain a bonus to your AC until the start of your next turn. The bonus to AC equals the weapon’s bonus to attack and damage rolls.
Awakened
When the weavelance reaches an awakened state, it gains the following properties:
- - The weapon’s bonus to attack and damage rolls increases to +2.
- The maximum charges the weavelance can have increases to 5, and it regains 1d4 charges daily at dawn. You can expend 3 charges to cast Control Water (save DC 15) from the weavelance.
- Rising Current. When you hit a creature with a melee attack using this weapon, you can choose to take a -1 penalty to your next attack roll against the same creature. On a hit, the attack deals +1 damage and you can choose to take a -2 penalty to your next attack roll against the same creature. You can repeat this effect multiple times, adding 1 to the attack penalty and damage bonus each time, to take a maximum penalty of -5 to an attack roll against the creature and dealing +5 damage on a hit. When you miss the creature with an attack roll, the cumulative attack penalty and damage bonus both reset to 0.
Exalted
When the weavelance reaches an exalted state, it gains the following properties:
- The weapon’s bonus to attack and damage rolls increases to +3.
- The maximum charges the weavelance can have increases to 7, and it regains 1d4+1 charges daily at dawn. You can expend 4 charges to cast Maelstrom from the weavelance. The save DC of all spells cast from the weavelance increases to 17.
- When you use the weapon’s Power Flux feature, you can also choose a Large or smaller creature that you can see within 30 feet of you. If the creature is willing, you can move it to 20 feet to an unoccupied space or cause it to hover 20 feet above the ground until the end of your next turn. An unwilling creature can make a Charisma saving throw (DC 17) to resist this effect.
