Dune Dwarf

Dune dwarves are the rarest of the Known World's dwarves, dwelling mainly in the Trossian Desert and occasionally near the borders of Esteria. Compared to both of their cousins, dune dwarves are incredibly outgoing and charismatic, holding a jovial and boisterous attitude wherever they go. Due to the nature of the Trossian Desert, the dwarves who originally arrived needed to make up for their lack of fortification with another skill, which came in the form of their excellent craftsmanship being funneled towards trade goods. Over time, this particular type of artistry took over their culture, with well-crafted weapons being replaced by beautiful jewelry and intricate armor being replaced by near god-like tapestries and glassworks. This has led to the dune dwarves being one of the Known World's richest races, with a typical stronghold being defined by towers of gold and limestone, roads inlaid with gems, and buildings more finely crafted than anywhere else in the world. Dune dwarves are not, however, blind to the fact that their riches make them prime targets for bandits and brigands, and many a young dwarf might find themselves in charge of a mercenary army, guarding their town as an Alshurtuin, spellswords armed with magic designed for rooting out thieves.
