Bair Klos was born in spring of 2001 in Boston, Massachusetts. Before she could write her ABC’s, Bair has been a storyteller. Her earliest memories of storytelling are from her childhood when she would sneak into her mother’s purse and draw in the empty pages of her mother's notebooks—which usually comprised of mermaids, dinosaurs, and beloved movie characters—before later narrating to her mother who the characters were and what the stories were about on the backside of the pages.   Despite her love for storytelling, trying to get Bair to read as a young child was like pulling teeth. In elementary school she would come to discover and love the “Ologies” book series by Dugald Steer, published by Penguin Random House, and take great inspiration from Wizardology in particular. Paired with her love for spending time in the Fells Reservation—just north of Boston—the combination of the two would plant the seeds for her eventual love of worldbuilding, conlanging, and of course writing.   Come middle school, encouraged by her mother to read The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, her desire to become an author was fully launched and she has never looked back since.   Bair is currently pursuing an associate’s degree through BHCC to enroll at Emerson College to earn a bachelor’s degree through Emerson’s Writing, Literature, and Publishing major.   Inspired by authors the likes of Gene Wolfe, Robin, Hobb, Brandon Sanderson, Sacha Black, and Tolkien, Bair even launched a writing oriented podcast—the Two Tired Writers Podcast—in August of 2020 with her fellow author friend Kimberly D. Herbstritt.   With just shy of a decade of writing experience under her belt, Bair’s love for storytelling through drawing has since shifted into a love and passion for the written word. Many of her story ideas draw inspiration from her old drawings and daydreams but as of late, her focus is New Adult, fantasy fiction. Dabbling in epic fantasy, contemporary romance, and retellings of beloved classics the likes of Orpheus and Eurydice and Peter Pan, Bair spends far too much of her time worldbuilding and not enough time writing her novels.   When Bair isn’t dedicating her limited spare time to writing blogs that geek out over all things writerly and bookish, she loves self-improvement, afternoon tea, spending quality time with friends and family, and throwing dinner parties.   Sign-up to her newsletter to stay up to date on her debut novel “The Glass Dagger” and get exclusive updates and insights on future projects, writer and reader resources, FREE literature, writing freebies, and a more personal side of Bair.
