I wrote my first "serious" story when I was about 10 years old. It was a disjointed, fifty-page saga (all handwritten in a combination of glitter gel pen and pencil) about my sister and I, as princesses who stumble upon a magical cave kingdom of talking unicorns. I never finished it. I still have it somewhere. Since then, I've developed my skills, writing and posting fanfiction and collaborating with friends on original ideas. As long as the ideas keep coming, I'll keep writing.
