I have been playing tabletop roleplaying games since the 1994, I think. I've lost a lot of sleep since then, so one can never be certain.   What did I start with? AD&D 2e, of course. That dip into the pool quickly led to WEG Star Wars d6, Rifts, Twilight: 2000, and really poorly thought out homebrew games. I would like to say that I'm not that guy that made up the poorly though out homebrew games. I would like to say that. I shouldn't, because lying is bad. Or some such.   These days, my palate appreciates both comfort food and the experimental. I've played a lot of D&D 5e. It's a great game. Highly recommend. I've also played a lot of games like Fading Suns, Burning Wheel, Blades in the Dark, Microscope, Marvel Heroic Roleplaying, and more. The list is somewhat long. I'm sure it will grow longer still.   When you hit 40 you start thinking about things like, "What do I really want to do?" Because, you realize, you are going to die. At some point. Which is a bit maudlin for Roll20, but there we are. So, what do I want to play?   I want to experience compelling play at a table with invested players. That's the juice.   Oh, if you want to hear me playing with a bunch of jerks, check out the Bastard Quest podcast on Facebook.
