Updating a homebrew world first started back in 1991 or so. A ton of work to do, old notes to rebuild, maps to remake, but its a labour or love. Originally designed for 2nd Edition AD&D but these days I run homemade fantasy rework of the Top Secret / SI system from 1987. I prefer the rougher, deadlier combat; the non-level based character advancement; the moral ambiguity of no alignment system; the lack of clearly defined character classes; and the challenge of adapting a James Bond style spy system into a fantasy game, including developing a system of magic. Cartography, world religions, and language nerd, so as I go those influences will be more and more apparent in my work here.

Fantasy from cheesy old classics (Conan, Beastmaster, etc) up to LOTR. The Usual Suspects, original SW triology, 1940-50s film noir (The Maltese Falcon, Gilda), Shawshank, etc
LOTR. The Prophet (Gibran), The Meditations (Marcus Aurelius)
