Unification Wreath

Created for the coronation of the first Emperor Julius Caesar, the unification wreath is an ornate wreath made from solid gold and with jewels around the rim, it is considered the badge of state for the Emperor.   The wreath itself is as old as the Empire, forged just over 5000 years ago by smiths in Lindum it was created to signify the formation of the Empire and the end of tribalism. The First Emperor ordered this forged as a badge of office and it has been worn at the coronation of every Emperor since.   It has been repaired and reworked countless times over the past thousands of years and noone is quite sure if any original part of it remans. The only part that we know to remain is the authority it carries.   Due to the significance of the Unification Wreath a wreath of olive branches is generally used on special occasions, a groom will wear one when marrying a bride, a person may wear one when graduating school and a mayor may wear one as a badge of office.   Before an Emperor is formally inaugurated they may only wear a wreath of olive branches, there has become in recent times a great price on the leaves of the wreath the Emperor wears when they are crowned. In fact one of the recent Emperors gave one leaf each to the 20 Legatus Legionis and one each to the 40 Senators as symbols of friendship.

Significance

Whomever has the wreath carries the authority of the Emperor. The Wreath is usually placed in the centre of the Senate when it is in session to signify that they act in the authority of the Emperor.
