Captain Kethelis Oakheart of the Avalonian Imperial Navy discovers the habitable world of Peridot, and its tiny moon, Beryl, in the roots of the Tree of Life known as Yggdrasil's Sprout in a peacetime exploration mission. He recommends to Star Command that it would make a good forward observer's base in the Telasian System to keep an eye on the Shoggothi that make their home on the outer planet Wylinta, and an excellent site for an elven shipyard to harvest and shape the Tree's Starseeds for Navy use.
