SAASI Observatory
The SAASI ( Solensky Advanced Academic Studies Institude ) Observatory is the sole settlment on Meliope Prime and it is the headquarters of SAAS Institude
It is a 5 stories outpost with most of it being occupied by a 3 stories high agricultural bio-dome accompanied with a tower on its side. The whole structure is built on the side of a cliff overlooking a massive jungle on the north hemisphere of the planet.
The Levels
Level -2 (Engineering)
build mostly underground with one of its sides visible at the cliff side this area is mostly off bounds to everyone apart from maintenance stuff and it hosts the mass reactor powering the installation as well as a variety of life support related system like water purification and recycling. In addition the manufacturing bay is also located on this levelLevel -1 (Hangar)
The Hangar level is also mostly underground with the main entrance exposed to the cliff side. It has enough capacity to hold up to 3 medium sized cargo ships, which is the reason that most traders use it as the port of call for all outposts in the Meliope Star System It is equipped with a maintenance bay that allows for most important repairs and manufacturing for spaceships docked and it is also equipped with 2 shuttles capable of both air and space flight.Level 0 (Administration & Entrance)
The administration level is mostly occupied by offices and and some small study rooms. It is the main entrance and airlock to the planet outside (although there is a secondary airlock on level 2). In addition this is also the location of the security office and training firing range of the installationLevel 1 (Dormitories/Living Quarters)
This level is occupied by the single or double quarters for the students and some common areas like bathrooms, showers, kitchens, R&R areas etc.Level 2 (University, Labs & Main Dome)
The University level's northside is filled with labs, autitoriums, workshops and open study areas used during teaching hours and the gym with its obstacle course. The South side of this level is the base of the 3-level high eco-dome which with it's arboretum at the center and the hydroponics installations around it. At the very west side of teh dome one can find "The View" the only bar-restaurant in the facilities which overlooks the Jungle and the most beautiful sunsets of Meliope's Star.Level 3 (Advanced Studies & Staff Quarters
The Advanced Studies area is a restricted area used for the most sensitive of experiments conducted by the academic staff and students In addition to these labs most of the living quarters for the academic staff are also located here.Level 4 (Command Center)
The command center is a very small level that allows the support staff and Dr. Isaac Thorton Solensky to run the facility. It is right under the observatory and enjoys a 360 view of the surrounding area behind high grade crystalline glass.Level 5 (Observatory)
The Observatory is a Dark Matter Observation Lab that takes readings of the RX-013 Black Hole. The observatory is out of bounds for everyone apart from Dr. Isaac Thorton Solensky and his very close staff.Demographics
