10,000 Days Myth in OmniVerse | World Anvil

10,000 Days

High is the way, but all eyes are upon the ground
You are the light and the way that they'll only read about
I only pray Heaven knows when to lift you out
Ten thousand days in the fire is long enough
You're going home
The 10,000 Days are an alleged era of time that existed before modern history, of which the only knowledge about it comes from various Artifacts that have been discovered; as well as The Cavern Of The North & The Northern World. It describes an era where Humans went to war with a supposed deity; wherupon Humanity emerged victorious. After it's defeat, however, the world would be constantly remade, destroyed, and rewritten by various opposing forces and supernatural phenomena that occured; all within the span of 10,000 Days. While it's hard to come across concrete proof of it's occurence, what's known is that the war described began in what is now the modern-day Vredefort Crater.

Summary

Before the 10,000 Days; the described texts and depictions describe how humanity was once a powerful race that made use of Mana regularly, creating a civilization that covered the entire globe; and which expanded into three other worlds: A world that exists next to a massive moon; and a completely dark realm with chains rising up high into the sky. The civilization was lead by four entities: the three Vanguards and an unknown god-like being that has been depicted with three eyes.   Another entity, named in the texts as The Corruptor, would appear, and it's arrival would result in conflict and strife brewing throughout the world. It would eventually culminate in a war that broke out against the god, causing untold casualties and the destruction of the massive civilization that had existed. Around this time, some humans would escape from Earth and into a new realm, one that is depicted as a black star in ancient carvings. The war would end with Humans using an unknown item; of which allowed them to defeat the god. As a result, however, the fabric of reality was distorted, bringing the Earth to a chaotic phase of overwhelming magical power and destruction.   The first three thousand days, supernatural phenomena began to sprout up all over the world, chaotic maelstroms of destruction and magical energy that is uncontrolled even by the strongest of humans. A great pilgrimage occurs as Humans begin to traverse from one side of the globe as it falls apart to the other side. Their journey would last the entire 10,000 Days, wheupon the human race would shed it's connection to magic, which would remain as such until The Bloom occurs millennium later. In that timeframe, the story goes, two other worlds would form; one of which is a magical wonderland that humans whom wished to keep their connection to magic traversed into; while the other is currently unknown despite ongoing efforts to learn more about it.

Interesting. I wonder how much the ancient artifacts can be relied upon.
