Angry with Arch-Mage Tuvalius lack of action against the Magical Ban of 1225, 50 prominent Magus-Tirs, several High-Magusi among them, decide to abandon the Conclave of Magi. Some simply resign from office, and continue their research and work without allegiance to the Conclave. Others form their own organizations, offering to take in anyone who flees from the north.
