The Fist
The Fist is the leader of the The Zeturian Guard, the private mercenary guard protecting the Holy Empress Lydia Radeken d'Alderac from any an all danger.
The title is bestowed upon a single member of the guard and it is a title given for life. Considering the fact that only the most proven of warriors are ever considered for the title and that protecting the Empress is probably the most dangerous job in the whole of Thebia, in most cases this means that one becomes the Fist for an average of 7 years before they have to be replaced.
The first is always an Attuned of great prowess but this is not what qualifies them as the leader of the most dangerous company in Thebia. It is their sense of honour and comradery that complels his compatriots to vote him into the position.
The Fist is the only other individual except from the Empress and the Princess who is allowed to wear "the Purple". In this case the purple is cloak dyed with the purple imperial dye signifying that the Fist is brother and son to the Empress and as such, Imperial royalty by adoption
Past Fists are honoured in the Gallery of Heroes where a granite stele in the middle of the gallery lists the names all the fallen fists. Many Ymirsen travel to Thebes to pay their respects in front of the monument to pay their respects to their most honoured family members.
