A transcription from the recollections of the Mater Machine Lieben.

Kate's mouth worked in silence. Blue eyes met amethyst, the Mater Machine's gaze focused upon her. Body rigid, Kate's fists shook as even the waterfall began to take on a purple and pink hue.

"The fuck!?" Kelso yanked his pistol from Max's chest and turned. "Hey... hey! Stop that!"

But Kate didn't heed Kelso's anger as she stared into the ocular well of Karnak's sapient machine. The biological machine grown as KT-002 knew nothing but those eyes, the pleasure and relief. That self-same cacophony of sound which drowned her in Agritage returned at a softer pitch, sunk into her bones milimetre by milimetre.

"WOA nelly!" Allard jumped back at the sight, as the thin purple ring around Kate swept upward and tightened, until it shimmered like a crown of heliotropic jewels. "Kate! Katey, he now!"

Kate's eyes opened wide. She shivered wholesale and with an inhaled gasp, every redundant screen hummed to life. Every dial in the command centre shifted and turned and answered Kate's command.

One of a pair, KT-002 was developed in the same tank as her twin brother CL-003. One half of the Asset Program's two control groups, KT-002 became a sample specimen for the growth of subsequent Assets after AD-001 Aderastos woke in 2150. By 2155, KT-002 was the first Asset to discover the outside world thanks to Adelia Fridley's contraband music player on board the CGM Ithavoll. Through listening to Adelia's music, KT-002 learned enough of the outside world to wake AD-001 and begin the process of their escape.

Completely mute, it remains unclear as to whether Kate has no use of vocal chords, or if she chooses not to use them. Kate speaks through the symbiotic relationship she shares with her brother CL-003 Clive or through hi-fi tech with speakers.

She is the origin of the first experimental group, which includes AR-006 Arun, KA-007 Ka, RA-011 Rachel & TK-012 Tokaru.

The most technological of the Assets, Kate appears to see the human race through its technological imprint and remains disconnected in ways the other members of Homo Augmentum do not.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Far from imposing as the other Assets, Kate is more slight and smaller of frame. Her imposing nature has more to do with the mind, than body.

The day Max Allard taught Kate how to wear pants, the entire Retreat rejoiced.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Little is known of Kate's memories, or how much of the world Kate takes in. Of all the Assets, I am the most worried for Kate and Ka, their development was frought with multiple false starts and issues.

Gender Identity

Originally neuter, KT-002 became aware of the concept of gender only after AD-001 Aderastos's escape and return to the Ithavoll in Neon Lieben. After Aderastos' healing, Kate instinctively chose a female form, and although she wears gender neutral clothing, presents in more of a female fashion than most of the other Assets.

Sexuality

Sexually intimate with Aderastos. No further information is known about Kate's sexual preferences.

Mental Trauma

The mental side of the Asset Program's experimentation seem to effect Kate & CI-004 Cillian the most out of all the others. One behavioural psychologist posited Kate's silence may be a form of trauma, another, she simply had nothing to say to humanity and thus saved her words only for those who she believes are better, like her. 
The truth is a complex combination of genetic manipulation and natural gift.

Intellectual Characteristics

Innate knowledge of communications systems, technology & the ability to hack into nearly any system she's been presented with (given enough time).
