Denizens of Haven take the moniker of Haveni once they accept the terms and conditions of the CIRCLET and make the decision to join. There are varying degrees of 'buy in' to the culture, but of the three dominant geopolitical forces on the planet, Haven is the most communally oriented, and includes the most easily accessed perks.

All Mater Machine Lieben asks is for her Haveni to Contribute and Receive. She is the Machine Mother, the AI Queen of Planet Earth, and the Monarch in control of the highest technology developed by Humanity.

To join the Haveni is to believe in Regenesis as the most pivotal paradigm shift in Human history, where finally the struggles of subsistence were over. No more did humanity need to worry about health care or education for their children, nor whether a despot would launch 'the missile to destroy the world'. There are no more missiles and nuclear payloads. No more drone attacks with 'allowable collateral' programmed into the targeting algorithms. Lieben frees the world, and all it costs is a little agency, and a life where the overarching Monarch is, in fact, an AI.

Haveni are loyal subjects of Mater Machine Lieben, who promises protection & plenty to those who contribute and receive.

Max reached for a CIRCLET and slid up his left wrist's soggy sleeve. The CIRCLET affixed itself and eased into connection, blue light scanned his hand as the band took blood pressure and pulse. Above his palm, diagnostic and calibration holograms fluttered, until a series of words swelled with the birdsong voice of the Mater Machine.

'Come at your leisure. My love is free. My abundance is yours.'

Money was as useless as torn paper in a Haven, an inequality the Mater Machine abhorred. While CIRCLETs connected the planet’s populace who followed Lieben’s cultural call, the monetary deficit stung CGM’s capitalist senses. How could culture, economics and society be maintained without financial gain? Her way led to docile cattle instead of the Conglomerate’s wolves.

Shared Values

Communal Ownership

Resources are best shared, including studio space, clothing, lodging. While Haveni own personal or favoured items, and choose their domicile from the available units, there is little need to 'own' anything substantial.

Rooted in Zen philosophy, true artistry emerges from a harmonious balance between dedicated effort and natural spontaneity. In both life and art, doing the best one can is not about force but gracefully applying oneself with unwavering focus and dedication. This philosophy values the beauty found in the simplicity of the present moment and the elegance that arises when one pours their heart and soul into their actions, creating artistry through authenticity.

Haveni value creative problem-solving and the willingness to embrace technological advancements for personal and societal growth.

Symbiosis of AI and Humanity

All Haveni make their peace with the positive integration of artificial intelligence and android/drones in their lives. While some might still prefer a human teacher or doctor, the NEO's are such a part of the workforce, they become a comfortable background noise. Levels of aide at their beck and call in technological symbiosis.

Without this fundamental fact of life, Haven would cease to exist. Thus, for many, the benefits outweigh any potential costs.

Circuit Breakers & Nanofil

One sub-group of the Haveni are the Circuit Breakers, humans who attempt to integrate the human 'machine' into as much cybernetic and augmented reality as possible. This group is identified with heavy use of Nanofilaments which give their skin luminescent lines of nanobots in various strings and patterns. Unlike other Haveni, their contribution is cybernetic experimentation & the attempt to push the limits of technological boundaries as far as they can.

Communal Learning

As learning is a lifelong and free right, Haveni dive into and out of classes, education sessions, workshops and events with complete freedom. Those who take their studies more seriously are often set up with a human Mentor, while those who are more casual about academic or educational pursuits stick with NEO-Ts.

Milestones

Studio Selection

Youths across Haven are given equal opportunity to succeed, with resources at their disposal to discover what empassions them most. As a Haveni grows, their natural affinities come into focus. They don't have to 'get a job' to subsist, but they must do something. Once a Haveni youth discovers what they want to do, their choosing of a Studio or avenue of education is a major celebration. While some Haveni select their Studio in early adolescence, most are encouraged to wait until their brains fully develop in their mid-20's, and have freedom to 'trial' Studios until deciding which one or two they desire to concentrate on.

Magnum Opus

A Magnum Opus is created with intent. It is purposeful, and capable of success, once one releases their inner critic, and enters the zone, a near-perfect state of being where the most authentic and beautiful of the human experience comes. Whether an object created with a sense of permanence, or something imbued with time, it is the Haveni's gift to their fellow humans, and to Lieben in gratitude for the Mater's continued fostering of humanity.

The pinnacle of Haveni life is discovering one's truest passion, and after years of mastery, presenting a Magnum Opus, or Masterwork to the community both physically present and via the VR/Augmented Reality CIRCLET. This can be a work of art, music, athletics, culinary or viticulture, philosophy, scientific research or applied invention.

It can be anything from painting to the perfect run in a video game so complex it makes lesser players cry. A 'perfect' vintage or the best meal. Each revelation of a Magnum Opus is cause for massive celebrations across Haven, and personal attention from the Android Queen. It will be recorded for posterity, that its memory and the memory of the persons who created it, can never be lost.

Haveni can produce multiple Magnum Opii in their lives, although many work toward a singular expression or goal.

Beauty Ideals

Natural fibres combine with synthetically recycled materials crafted from the refuse of the world prior to Lieben's rise. Most Haveni prefer fashions which breathe, integrate various tech components, end the sleeves where the CIRCLET sits, are fit to the environment and drape. As all clothing but intimates are communal, clothing requiring a tailored fit is set aside in honour of the newest creations by Haven's bank of fashion designers.

There remains a firm affection for androgyny in most fashions, while clothing presenting either masculine or feminine remains unrestricted.

Synthetic Fusion

Embracing the merger of human and NEO aesthetics, beauty ideals include intricate cybernetic enhancements that seamlessly integrate with the human form, emphasizing a balance between organic and synthetic elements.

Luminous Creativity

Appreciation for unique artistic expressions, from vibrant holographics to body mods that emit iridescent light patterns. Those Haveni who engage in Nanofilament augmentation, have the unique colour index of their filaments pulsing beneath the skin in sweeping lines along their nervous system.

Relationship Ideals

Haveni value a mixture of monogamous and polyamorous relationships. Since all receive when they contribute, the need to 'marry well' or be concerned with inheritance, economic station or social standing is reduced to a curio. There is no stigma against polyamory, as long as the members involved are contented, aware and willing. Monogamy too is equally acceptable, as many find bonding with one person over a continued period of time either easier or more instinctual in the long run.

Collaborative Partnerships

Relationships are built on mutual respect, shared interests, and collaborative pursuits. Partners support each other's passions and endeavors.

Tech-Inclusive Intimacy

Intimate connections might involve shared virtual realities or experiences facilitated by NEO-X's, enhancing emotional connections beyond physical proximity. For those whose fantasies might cause discomfort, or require physics beyond the natural, VR cocoons become a natural extrapolation and can involve multiple partners simultaneously, or a dedicated AI tailor created to satiate the solitary.

Naming Conventions

Family Names

When changing one's name from their historical family name (which many times are still in use), Haveni adopt family names from skills, talents, or passions. These names might derive from technological elements, artistic concepts, or scientific terms. For instance, families might bear names like Turing, Organistrum, DaVinci, or Harmonia.

Given Names

It is a rarity for one to keep their birth name their entire life. How can a signifier of the person continue to be consistent when the person through time and education, isn't? Namings are causes for celebrations, and no difficulty exists in changing a few letters to correspond with a name, when the population wear CIRCLETs with identifier numbers.

Civil Enforcement

Inside the Haveni

Crime in Haveni culture is notoriously low, due to the ubiquity of surveillance through CIRCLET and the negation of scarcity. Those Haveni who present desires to act out in violence have constant access to 'Anger Rooms' and sessions with disarmed NEO-Ws with which to fight, destroy, spar or release their pent up frustrations without coming to personal harm. The thought behind Anger Rooms was Lieben's, if pressure builds up in a system, a pressure release valve is necessary. Thus, her children, the NEO's, having no pain receptors, could be adequate replacements to allow for release without causing harm to fellow Haveni or outside humanity.

Acts of jealousy or violence against another human are stunted by the immediate mobilization of drones, NEO-Ns and NEO-Ws as the situation warrants. Separated and sent to psychological intervention, aggressors are put into anger management programs, while victims enter trauma counselling.

Should an aggressor or dissident continue to rebel, they are put through the Forage, a NEO maintained program for re-education. 97% of offenders pass through Forage with success and reintegrate into Haveni society. The 3% which do not successfully reintegrate are either stripped of their CIRCLET and thus removed from the Haveni, or if deemed a danger by a panel of Elders and Lieben herself, sent to the secretive project PRIMAL.

Outside the Haveni

When Lieben is the entity in control of the world's high tech weaponry, NEO-Ws, attack robots, drones, missiles, air & hovercraft and nuclear warheads, outsiders tend not to antagonize. The world outside sees Havens as impenetrable fortresses controlled by a superintelligent and calculated AI.

While all who contribute and receive are welcome, few in the Conglom, Syndicate or Idless come for more than a casual meal once in a while, if at all.

Those who oppose Haven do so from a distance, calculating until they feel capable of usurping Lieben's clear supremacy.

The last offensive encounter between Haven and an outside party was slapped down by Haven's NEO-W defences before the aggressors could even fire a shot. None of the aggressors survived.
