Nidites

This is an outlawed cult who worship the ancient Lorlundian God of Night, Nid. Historically, this cult was feared by many across the world. They were, and still are, famous for inflciting terror and mayhem in the name of Nide. In the 8th century of Time, they had managed to gather enough followers to conduct a mass killing at the Cathedral of Light in Empire City which was stopped by the Paladins of Taria's Order. Since then its been illegal to worship Nid in all of the Atharian Realms.

Part the Ancient Lorlundian Pantheon is Nide, the God of the Night. Historically, scholars teach Nide was more than the god of night, but also of the Moon, darkness and, arguably, fear. There is a lot of confusion whether or not fear means things of horror, or the absense of courage and therefore preaching a virtue of bravery.
The Nidites strongly believed the virue of bravery and would exercise this by commiting acts of horror to prepare people for possible dangers. Every Autumn, the Nidites would gather for a ritual known as Horror's Eve, where the whole point of the ritual is to spook strangers at night. However this gradually escalated, as many would and have injured or even killed their victims.

The Cathedral of Light

In the centre of Empire City is the grand Cathedral of Light, a structure built to be a centre of the Lorlundian faith in Taria; Goddess of Creation and her Order. The cathedral had only just been constructed to dawn a new era of the Empire's faith, as they announce the Order will be the Empire's official religion and every Lorlundian must also adopt to this faith. Many, if not most, people of the empire already had, though there have been opposition.
In the Summer of 884, Nidites were planning to devestate the entire Tarian faith as the plotted to burn the patrons and matrons of the Order. During the Sun Festival and during the evening's prayers, Nidites stormed the Cathedral of Light and barricaded the doors. Nidites rounded up the Patrons and Matrons who were attending, as well as the preists and preistesses. They then used the pews to create a large pyre. The Nidites were almost successful if it weren't for the Paladins of the order, who managed to bust down the barricaded doors and arrested or killed the criminal Nidites.

The Old Gods

For many centuries, Lorlundians worshipped who are now referred to as the Ancient Lorlundian Gods. This pantheon was the only religion in the world, and lasted since the Start of Time. However, new beliefs began to emerge and eventually the faith of Taria's Order became the Empire's state religion.

Cathedral of Light

Built in the centre of Empire City is a large stone house of worship for Taria; Goddess of Creation and her Order. It can fit over 300 people and is a regular venue for prayers.
