Sagewood Species in Fillimet | World Anvil

Sagewood

Sagewood is a towering evergreen grass in Rol'na, used commonly as a living building material. It has delicate pink flowers in the early growing season, held dear in religious customs of the Three Songs.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Sagewood is an evergreen grass capable of growing several stories high. It is surprisingly strong and flexible. The plants grow straight and tall with small leafy branches spread along its shaft. They bloom during the early growing season, displaying bunches of hundreds of delicate pink flowers for five days before shedding the flowers.

Ecology and Habitats

The sagewood is native to Rol'na although it has been successfully transplanted to other areas around Fillimet. It grows well in most climates although it thrives best in warmer locations with generous access to water.

Additional Information

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Sagewood is considered a sacred plant to the Three Songs and is therefore quite popular in Rol'nara ceremonies. It is also a rather effective building material in warmer climates, and may even be used as a living base to structures such as with the House of Flowers.

Huh, I don't know why I never liked this, considering the amount of times I've been reading this article. XD I love this plant. I wish I could see it in real life during the blooming season.

I love the building uses, and the fact that it's a sacred plant! It sounds absolutely beautiful, and Emy's art with it is a perfect match.
