Golemancer: 5E Class in Erenel | World Anvil

Golemancer: 5E Class

A young human stands alone in the wheat fields outside of town. Sprinting toward her, a pack of ravenous Gnolls spots an easy meal. Unconcerned, the human steps forward, chanting quietly. An explosion of blue light erupts from the ground beside her as a towering Ashard Golem materializes from lightning and thunder, ready to defend its master.   Exhausted from the unrelenting undead assault, the Shaman fights thru the chaos, defending his ancestral homeland. Suddenly, a bright flash erupts from the monasteries’ entryway. Three Ashard Golem infused with elemental energy rush into the fray, their Elf master close behind. Feeling invigorated by the presence of the elemental energy, the Shaman’s hands spark with electricity.   Golemancers command powerful companions, effortlessly shaping the world’s natural material into powerful constructs. No two Golemancers and their Ashard Golem are the same, as Golemancers augment and design unique crafting wonders thanks to a robust Ashard alloy inserted into their bloodstream. One thing is sure, by harnessing the power of the Ashard alloy, Golemancers and their Ashard Golems make a formidable team.

Ashard Alloy

Before a Golemancer can manipulate the natural components around them, they must first undergo the painful bonding process with an Ashard Alloy. Ashard gemstones are scarce minerals typically mined from the bodies of deceased Ashard Dragons or collected from meteorites that have fallen from the Black Sea of Nothingness.   When ground into dust and mixed with the user’s blood, the magical properties found in the Ashard Gemstone link with the Golemancer’s life source, granting magical control of the elements. As the user grows with the Ashard Alloy compound, the art of Golemancy takes shape as the Golemancer mentally controls the aspects around them, shaping their surroundings into golem companions.

Creating a Golemancer

When creating your Golemancer, consider how you interacted with an Ashard Alloy. Did you willingly undergo a dangerous procedure to gain the power to protect yourself or your community?   Maybe you accidentally came into contact with a strange meteorite, only to have its heated contents merge onto your skin. When you construct your golems, do they have individual personalities, or are you a hive mind with each golem becoming an extension of yourself?
