The Devils Mouth
A massive canyon rumored to be the entrance to Hell. It is said to be a staggering 37,440-foot fall into the Devils mouth and out of thousands of recorded lives lost from people falling into The Mouth, only two survivors have made it back out. Before this instance, the contents and creatures that inhabited the Devils mouth had been mostly unknown to the people of Birtham, but after the survivors were properly treated for their injuries they recounted their experience of the Devils mouth and it was declared as restricted land by most kings due to its perils.
Since the closing of the Omni gate, horrible creatures called Hollows have risen from the depths of the canyon each day at dusk and poured out of the east edge into Birtham. A mixed army of Valkourran warriors and volunteers built a small camp near the edge of the mouth in order to hold the Hollows back until dawn, when they retreat back into the darkness of the canyon. This army of volunteers are referred to as "the Last line' and they are Edens only active defense against the Hollows. So far, the Hollows haven't been able to fully breach the Last lines defenses and enter Birtham, but if they were to succeed their affliction would spread like wildfire and consume any thing that crossed their path.
