Kaose Species in Reki Orbital Space Station | World Anvil

Kaose

I wonder what happened to them...
— A youth to another during a history lesson
The Kaose were native to Areu and existed before the Destruction of Areu. They are supposedly extinct now. Though, since their fate is unknown, they might not be.

Magic

The Kaose were very well-versed in magic. They could use both Ark magic and Essance manipulation. They used their science and knowledge of magic to build a huge space station that they launched into orbit around their planet 3027 years ago.   21 years later, both the millions of people living on The Station and the billions living on the planet of Areu disappeared without a trace. Some people hope that they will return and tell everyone what happened to them.

Anatomy

The Kaose were a tall bipedal humanoid species with round ears and a lot of hair on their head, according to pictures still left on The Station. They had two feet, two legs, a torso, two arms, two hands, a neck, and a head. Their skin colors ranged from very dark black to very light beige. They had black or brown hair and brown or blue eyes.

Growth stages

The Kaose were mammals and reproduced through sexual intercourse. Ten months after a female of the species became pregnant, she gave birth. It was decently common that a female produced identical twins.   The offspring was usually considered an infant up to the age of 1 year. They were in the first stage of language learning, and they learned to crawl, and some even learned to walk.   From one to three years of age, they were considered toddlers during this time, their language skills developed quickly, and with that skill, magic development also started.   Between four to eleven, they were considered a child. They should have been able to run, jump, skip, climb and have fine motor skills. They should also have been able to do things themselves like dress and bathe. They were curious and would learn to use magic well if they had a tutor. Children without one would have more difficulty learning magic when they were older.   From twelve to twenty-five, they were considered youngsters and should have grasped the use of magic, speech, and motor skills.   From the age of twenty-five to seventy-nine, they were considered adults, they should have had an excellent grasp on magic, speech, and motor skill and be a part of the workforce.   After the age of eighty, they were considered elders, and they should have retired to live out their old age in peace. Their magical abilities would start to taper off as well as some of their other abilities.

Tea

The Dragons have done extensive research about the Kaose's tea drinking traditions. Apparently the Kaose on the planet mostly only treated drinking tea as any other drink. However, the people of the Station treated tea with more reverence than their planet counterparts. The scholars are not sure why. They theorize that it was because it was hard to keep the best before date of other drinks. Not every scholar agrees, though.
