Ideals of romance varies from kingdom to kingdom. Lords will court ladies, ladies will court lords. Those of higher status may arrange marriages for the sake of power - political or financial - or to add new land to their own. Some may even arrange marriages out of nothing but love, but these people are far and few between when it comes to those born of nobility.
For the general public, romances are done for similar reasons, though more often than not they are actually courting someone that they love.
There are also differences between the races. How one enters a relationship if they are human will be a vastly different experience to how one enters a relationship if they are daelin or beastfolk. To even further divide the rules of courtship, the kryn of the beastfolk each have their own ways to go about starting or nurturing a romance.

So far there are six major romance options that will be available in The Wayfarer series. These characters are Callassa, Darak, Luth, Sariel, Varis and Yevelda. There are minor romances available throughout the series, but none of those will be serious or long lasting.
