Being half Yondarish, half Valissan might set some people back, especially when they spend their life in Yondar, but Darak doesn't let that get to him. Some people around the town may be wary of him and his sister - or more specifically, extremely cautious around their mother - but Darak has managed to solidify his place as part of Zerac's community by constantly helping out around the town.
"You're... Valissan?" You ask, all the pieces of the puzzle suddenly clicking together. Darak laughs heartily.
"I wasn't exactly keeping it a secret," he says in between laughing fits. You nudge him in the stomach with your elbow, light and playful, and Darak eventually stops laughing. "That's not a problem, is it?"
You immeditately shake your head, small smile on your lips.
"Not at all. It's just... most people wouldn't be so open and honest about it. But I'm glad that you are."
Physical Description
Darak is slim, not overly muscular, and built more for endurance hunting over purely strength based feats. Unlike his sister, Darak has tried his best to avoid unnecessary fighting, and most of his hunts have gone off without a scratch, so he doesn't have a great deal of scars to show off. What little scars he does have a minor injuries - small cuts on his hands and legs from overly feisty animals.
Personal History
Darak has lived a rather normal life. The only thing out of the ordinary would be the jeers from the other children about Darak's and his sister's Valissan heritage - opinions formed from the other children's parents no doubt. Darak was very much the more passive one during these confrontations, prefering to reason with the others, and showed a great deal of maturity for his age that both of his parents were proud of. Where words would not work, his sister would always be at his side and willing to step in.
Eventually though, the other children grew out of their parent's shadows and most of them grew into their own opinions of Darak - a lovely, kind hearted boy with who had a remarkable charm - and Wynne - scary, fiesty, and extremely loyal. Darak himself even became close friends with some of the worst offenders, managing to change their minds and views on Valissa.
Darak's parents never pushed him to find a job - they were adamant that they would always be willing to help their children and knew that Darak in particular wasn't sure what he wanted to do with his life. That changed when Darak was around 14 years old and discovered he had a natural skill with a bow and arrow. For a couple of years, he would train on a casual basis, only really spending time to try and go hunting around two or three days a week.
One day, a hunter saw Darak outside of the town, tracking down a deer to bring home for his family to make a meal out of. The hunter watched in awe as Darak took the deer down without much effort. The hunter approached Darak and told him that he was the best archer the hunter had ever seen, and that Darak should consider a career in hunting. Afterall, Zerac did not have many hunters in town - most came from the nearby villages to sell their wares.
It was because of this encounter with the hunter that Darak started training more rigorously. His parents, relieved that Darak had finally found a purpose that he wished to persue, encouraged his training. Darak's skill with a bow had improved so much over the years that most of Zerac now spread the rumour that Darak can never miss his mark. Although Darak knows this is not true - he misses at least once a month, but he's working on improving that statistic - he does nothing to deter the rumour, choosing to encourage it instead.
His fame as one of the best hunters in Zerac has also made him very popular among the town. When he had just turned twenty, he tended to use that fame to his advantage amongst the town, telling grand tales of some of his hunts in order to impress the men and women, and eventually sleep with them. This went on for a good few months before the towns people started to wise up to his antics, although some of them will still happily sleep with Darak, grand tales or not. Now, he mostly tells these tales to travellers passing through town, which has gotten him in trouble on more than one occasion.
Social
Family Ties
Darak gets along very well with all of his family. There are tense moments with his sister that, more often than not, lead to heated arguments, but they're mostly just harmless arguments between siblings. Their main difference in opinion is how vocal they are about their Valissan heritage. Darak is fine with telling people the truth, but will not go out of his way to inform people of it. On the opposite end of the scale is Wynne, who prefers to make sure that everyone knows she is half Yondarish, half Valissan. Whenever it comes up, you can guaruntee that an argument about it is imminent.
Other than that, Darak is pretty happy with his family and will talk to them as often as he can - which is most days, considering he still lives with both of his parents.
Religious Views
Darak does not actively practice any religion. His father is not religious at all and although his mother is a Nightsinger, admitting to such in Yondar would likely see her executed.
His mother wants Darak to know of his Valissan heritage and so has been telling him the stories of the godly siblings Valis and Sar. He has, in the past, helped his mother with a few rituals in secret that are sacred to the Nightsingers, and he himself will sometimes participate in these rituals, but Darak does not consider this to mean that he is a Nightsinger.

Profession
As a hunter, Darak earns money by selling the hides and meat obtained from his regular hunts. He has learnt to skin and carve the animals himself so that he doesn't have to waste time finding someone else to do it.
Occasionally, if there is a demand for it, he will sell other parts of the animals too (such as organs and bones to apothecaries), but has yet to master the art of extracting these himself.
