Oh I hope this works…
Backing away from the perimeter of the camp, you cup your hands and start making the growling sounds of a Tailmain.
For once, your talent for imitating the dog-sized mammal can be used for something other than scaring the girls in the outhouse late at night. Known for their aggressive night hunting, these thick skinned predators have to be dealt with before they attract their packs to assist it.
You pause, letting the worry—the panic—to set in. Then you take a deep breath and let out a gnarled howl…the sound a Tailmain makes when it thinks it’s found a food source.
It works!
In moments, all three soldiers have grabbed torches and swords, rushing to the edge of the camp. They venture out, slowly, towards you.
You let out a grunt, scraping through the leaves with your boot. They turn in your direction. You can’t help but smile—this is too easy… Then you realize you’ve stood still too long.
They’re almost on top of you!
