Osiris

The Aeon who rules the Land of the Dead is often called Osiris, but they are much older than the name. For as long as there have been souls that can pass on, Osiris has been there to collect them and make them move on. While others have taken a more direct role in portraying death, every myth about it has some aspect of Osiris in it.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

While Osiris can shrink and grow at will, they rarely bother to change much else about their appearance. They are humanoid with pallid skin taut like dried parchment over their bones. Their body is wrapped in brown-stained bandages covered by a full black shroud. Whenever Osiris speaks, it sounds like dry air through a tunnel of coarse stone.

Facial Features

Most of Osiris' face looks like it has decayed underneath the skin and dried up. Lips are pulled back and the nose is almost entirely gone. The eye sockets are just black, endless, pits. The lack of features makes it impossible to read any intentions.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Like all the other Aeons, Osiris has always existed as far as anyone can determine, and since only one of their kind has ever been destroyed, they are likely to exist for the rest of eternity. They watch over all the souls in the Land of the Dead but have been known to take a personal interest in a few specific events. One example was the deal with Chakra-amara who tried to control Osiris in order to gain power over life and death. While the Aeon did grant them power, the aspiring mages were caught in a trap where they now lead an existence of painful undeath.   Any attempt to control Osiris has ended in the same way. The would-be usurper is left in a state of perpetual death.

Intellectual Characteristics

Like other Aeons, Osiris has an outlook that is more that of a singular perspective than it is a multifaceted personality. Everyone dies, and that insight should always be on everyone's mind. Death, undeath, and life are just aspects of the same thing to Osiris. And there is no rush since everything will die eventually and become part of the Pale Aeon's domain.

Social

Contacts & Relations

Many other entities precede over death in various ways. For instance, Azrael is the Archangel of Death and Soul. These beings aren't in charge of Osiris, but they do work together or against each other in one way or another. For instance, Azreal and Osiris both make sure that those intended to die do so, but they disagree on if undead should be destroyed or treated as just another state of death.
