Aye, The One Book and her ‘alf-pages were nev’r meant to b’come the cornucopia of treasure ‘nd knowledge countless adventurers ‘ave turned ‘em into, Dinnae ye know?

Nay. 'Nd they certainly weren’t ‘tended to be the n‘strument of Evil that Barak and the ‘athers plotted it would become if’in all ‘em pages be found. ‘Course, that be, if’in their mercenaries and ‘enchmen find all the half-page in the countless towns, forests, and dungeons the torn scrolls are ‘idden in.

Dinnae ye know, when it started... at the very b'ginin'... The One Book and her pages were actually meant ta be… Good.

That be why I need ye ta find 'em before the Fathers do, or mayhap there be no Good ever ag'in.

Not long after the creation of Man The One, at Siberlee’s suggestion, decided to create a document that she wished, hoped, and prayed would be a guide for each of The Mothers and the Fathers of Mernac to find success, true happiness… and their personal Truth. It is said by the Scribes and Sages that know of such things that for the first time in eternity she chose to speak to others besides Siberlee, The Mother of Nature. Not only this, but she decided to speak and she commissioned Kalos the Fire Dragon, Onas Brushstoke the first Diciple, and the leader of the Fae's, Sara Dragonmist to write the book of, and for, The One, which would show the path to true happiness. It was the dawn of the Fathers being cast out of the heavens when the massive Tome was completed. A War between the Gods was in the wind. So, on completion, they all decided there were too many secrets in it for anyone, particularly the Fathers, to possess and the book torn in half by Kalos. One half was entrusted to Kalos and the other half was entrusted to the Fae, Sara Dragonmist. After The Fathers were cast out of the heavens they devised a plan to steal back The One Book Book. They were successful getting many of the Half Pages Sara hid using adventurers and mercenaries. But none from those Kalos hid. The Fathers were very motivated to find these. For among the many seeds of knowledge, there was some that each of the Gods including the Mothers sought. In the book there was a page on each of the Gods that tells them their furure... and the secret for them to achieve success and happiness. The fist half was alway available in The Great Library of Hob, but more often than not, it was quite cryptic. To get the full answers there desire they must find the second half. Each of which Kalos has hidden individually somewhere in the world of Mernac. It was not intil the time of The Sap Wars that the Fathers began to find some fragments as is documented in The Book of Grumby

Purpose

Soon after the last of the 20 Races were created, days following The Division of Man and Beast when Classes were defined, and the moment the last profession and religion were conceived, it is thought that The One and The Other felt that the 20 fledgling Gods and Goddesses had matured and needed knowledge and Truth to continue their growth. She felt that now that each God had created a Race, Class, Profession and Religion of their own, that they were ready for her to share all the knowledge of the Universe. It is said by the Scribes and Sages, who know of such things, that The One decided to commission a tome of all knowledge be written to capture and document this wisdom and all the eternal truths so that is could be shared with the Gods and their Races. Such a book would contain all The One's knowledge of what is, what has been, and what will be. It would give those with the knowlged of the book as much power as The One herself and was designed to be her greatest gift to all the Souls on Mernac. As the book was the essence of the diety, herself, the massive book become known as The One Book.

The One's purpose in creating The One Book was meant to be Good.

It is said that The Other also assisted and actively suppoted the creation of The One Book.

It is surmized The Other* had a different purpose in mind.*

Construction and Materials

Quite obviously The One Book was composed exclusively using Kellium Ink to ensure that what was written would always remain the Truth - Regardless of what history may bring. From all accounts, art depicting The One book, and from the half-pages that have actually been found the lexicon was written on what appears to be simple parchment paper. Or so was the intent when the Book was composed before the Fathers were cast out of the Heavens. Such was what The One hoped for and has become to be known as:

What few, but high-ranking Sages, and the custodians of the The Great Library of Hob realize is the parchment used was actually pulp from the Stromba Tree tree… with all the significance and powers of protection that material possesses.

The Dragon Bounty by Rick Merriman

In 665 AM as Kalos, the Fire Dragon, Sara Dragonmist, The Leader of the Fae Race, and Onas Brushstoke, The First Disciple were finishing The One Book Barak took out the first Bounty on Dragons. It is said by the Scribes and Sages who know of such things that The Fathers showered Kalos with over 100 arrows dipped in poison. One found their mark and dropped the Dragon to the Ground. Sara Dragonmist spent seven days searching for his body... but found him close Death. For the Dragon to live The Faerie knew she must...
