Accidents happen, especially when you are in the wilderness. The Medical skill group teaches you how to deal with the aftermath. Though fairly reliant on other skills, especially Tonics, the Medicine skill can save an entire settlement from a slow death. First-Aid and Surgery are also very relevant, the former more for early survival than the latter.
