Down Town
Then he took us through the slums the city calls Downtown, a collection of scrap steel huts clustered on the southern edge of the lake, clinging to the stone like barnacles. Here we saw the worst that Stadupglod could offer; disease, crime, abuse, and the institutionalized degradation of my kind. After today, both Kiambe and I are more resolute in our cause than ever.

Purpose / Function
Alterations
Down-Town is unregulated by the Property Preservation Branch of the Old Dwarven Government, and so is free to grow and change as its population expands or shrinks.
Architecture
Most of the buildings are made of scrap steel that is routinely dumped at the entrance of the Lowway by the Pelgar Group. The structures are shoddy and poorly made, and collapses happen regularly with disastrous consequences.
History
In the early years of The City of Stadupglod all the races attempted to live together in the city proper. This lead to riots and small battles between each race before the original Forge Council could be formed and pass laws restricting Goblins, Orcs, and Minotaur from living within the city.
The entrance to the Lowway was given up by the Old Dwarven Government and allowed to be settled by any race and any class of inhabitants. It was quickly transformed into a mass of rickety metal buildings and destitute civilians.
