A timeline, frozen over and destroyed...

Luckily for those in the frozen wasteland, Mount Tech had managed to get around enough for some of it to remain and become somewhat-common knowledge, allowing various off-model duplications of Mount Tech to exist. Commonly, Tinkerers are the people one would call for to adjust the Mount Tech belonging to someone; if needed.

Utility

Mount Tech works by placing a specialized machine onto the arm of the person wearing it, usually held on by leather and hook-and-loop fastener straps. Depending on the tool attached to the Mount Tech, it will either hang underneath the arm, on top of the arm, or on the side of the arm facing away from the body. The tools are attached to a mechanical arm that can be flipped forward either with a button; or with a flip function that certain models of Mount Tech have.   The usages for this include an arm-mounted flashlight that hangs onto the side of one's arm when they are wielding a weapon or when they are mining, a way to wield a chainsaw that can flip forward for lumberjacks, and with the right tools; the ability to have better support when handling certain heavy items.

Access & Availability
It's available all throughout the world, being used in the military as a quick and effective way to weaponize themselves; or in the mining industry to have a flashlight active on your arm while your hands are doing something else. Some Deepcore Foundation Retail stores even sold Mount Tech to customers before Deepcore united with The Beautiful People in 2016 and became involved with their destruction of a large portion of the world in 2018.
Discovery
Mount Tech was conceptualized in the 1950s by the chief engineers of the Deepcore Foundation, with the early prototypes being created in 1960 and working models being shipped out in 1962.

Sounds like really useful technology, and I love that it has spread to a variety of different groups. I also love your description of Velcro. XD
