Um-Rula Myth in Numidius | World Anvil

Um-Rula

"When our ancestors first emerged from the sands, they were greeted by the gods and were bestowed with boons:
Midbariot gave us the desert to rule; Arafel gave us oases to survive; Shalhevet gave us fire to keep us warm.
Then they introduced us to the spirits and the spirits promised to not harm us. All spirits by one; a jealous, spiteful, spirit.
The spirit, became intent upon proving the Sala'kir to be flawed, hoping to regain the place it once held in the gods' eyes.
Beware, young ones; should you grow too prideful; should you disrespect your elder; should you seek to aggrandize yourself but disregard your family; you might catch the attention of Um-Rula."
Um-Rula is a malignant spirit that possesses a Sala'kiri who grows too prideful, setting him off on a murderous spree while taking hold of his body.
