Brass dragons are the weakest of the metallic dragons, and also one of the most benign of all dragon species. They are extremely social and love to engage friends and foes alike in hours of long-winded conversation. It is not unusual for a brass dragon to be fluent in several hundred different languages, although they insist to converse in Draconic whenever possible.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Brass dragons have several highly distinctive physical features. If viewed from below, their wings in full spread create a delta-like, triangular shape, as they are attached to the body all the way to the tip the tail. The wings are longest at the shoulders, and gently getting slimmer as they reach the tail.   Brass dragon scales seem to radiate heat and light and, as their name imply, tend to have metallic brass-colored shade. The scales themselves vary from dull brown at a young age, to a more glossy and brass-like in adulthood.   The shape of their skull and head is unusual compared to that other of other dragons, as it include a large, curved plate that extends from the dragon's eyes and cheeks on either side and curves upwards. They have two or more sharp horns on the chin, which became steadily pointier as the dragon aged.   Like all metallic dragons, brass dragons also have smell that resemble metal, yet unlike other of their kinds, they would not mask it unless it is for the purpose of defense.

Ecology and Habitats

Brass dragons are native to arid regions; they share many similar habitats with blue dragons , which lead to the two to conflict.   Brass dragons dig their lairs inside desert peaks, facing eastwards, so that the rising sun would warm the lair for the majority of the day. Those lairs are well-constructed and quite extensive, with many twisting corridors and dead ends to confuse and discourage hostile intruders. The centerpiece of any brass dragon's lair is the Grand Conversation Hall, where it spent the majority of its time entertaining friends and visitors.   A typical lair also contains an elegant foyer, a gallery for the artwork the dragon collects, a sleeping chamber and a storage room. All lairs also have several small entrances, known as bolt holes. These multiple entrances allow the dragons to easily escape an attack by a blue dragon or other intruders.
