Castle Amsa
Atreimus himself shines His light within these halls, a blessing on us and our people. He keeps us safe, preserves us in His light, as the Hand does his bidding.Castle Amsa is the immense and long-standing structure housing the throne of Aurel, within the Kingdom of Arsavela.
Ancient Architecture
Constructed in times before recorded history, reduced to ruins, then rebuilt at the birth of the Kingdom of Arsavela, Castle Amsa is built from humanity's most ancient of ruins, and stands as a testament to the longevity of the Kingdom of Arsavela.Clearing the Halls
This castle was once home to the Arsaces Family whose royal line ruled the land for millennia, but now acts as headquarters of the Alabaster Hand, and principal church of Atreimus, the Purifier. After the Fall of Arsaces, the castle was wholly taken over the Alabaster Hand, which replaced the royal family and court as the leaders of the kingdom at large. After taking over the castle, the Alabaster Hand worked tirelessly to clear out the personal effects of the declared heretical monarchy, casting away much of the decor in the process. Thus, the white halls of Castle Amsa have never been quite so bare, save for the additions of the banners of the Alabaster Hand where the Arsaces tapestries once hung.Minimalism may seem difficult to achieve in a large castle, but the Hand has done as much as it can to instill an image of "purity" within the castle, as well as on its grounds, where the common folk may see it. As access to the Alabaster Terrace has grown more limited to the public with time, less emphasis has been placed on the upkeep of the grounds, and even less on the interiors of the castle.
Aurel (Alabaster Terrace)
Alternate Language
Castle Amsa is named for the god Atreimus, the Purifier, "Amsa" being an alternate name for the god in the language of the local Terran Boharin.Dropping Gold
Aurel is often known to others as the city of silver and gold, as a nod to its opulent cathedrals and royal grounds, which have regrettably begun to see some degree of ruin following the deposition of the monarchy. Castle Amsa is one of these slowly decaying structures, which some are beginning to claim is now staining the horizon with its disrepair.Want Secrets?

Whoa! I find your layout breathtaking (honestly) I joined WorldAnvil a little over a year ago and struggled at first with the dreaded Learning Curve. It wasn't until the end of last summer that I finally got a handle on how all these moving pieces fit together. So I consider myself a rookie with about half-a-year of practical experience. I decided to do the New Year's Resolution challenge (my first one!) and your article here is one of my choices. And wow! I've been limiting myself to the small handful of layout options I feel comfortable using. Seeing your work encourages me to really flex my creative muscles, start lifting bigger weights (that's about as far as that metaphor will stretch!). I especially want to mention the handwritten pieces. They not only break up the sameness of the text blocks but they impart a feeling of . . . Immediacy, maybe? Or verisimilitude? Something about those notes just makes The Purifier feel real. Alive, with a past, and memory and agency and opinions and (etc etc) I've already thought of a few articles of my own that could benefit from this "personal touch" approach. Can't wait to make dozens of mistakes on my way to producing something satisfactory. Wheee! I thank you and bid you peace
Wow, thank you so much! There is so much to learn when it comes to WA and all of the ways you can present your worldbuilding, and we're always learning something new! Mistakes are definitely a part of the process, but sometimes we get those blessed "happy accidents" that shine through! Quotes and prose are some of my favorite ways to add some life to an article. They offer mood, context, flavor, and more! Thanks so much for stopping by to read <3
