A veritable work of art, our Holy Terrace is. Only the finest will do for the house of our illustrious god, and those who keep his light strong within us.
— Commentary from the Merchant's Quarter
The Alabaster Terrace is the holy district of Aurel, housing the illustrious Castle Amsa. Immense and impressive, this district is developed with the ruling powers of Aurel in mind, and continues to develop to better serve The Alabaster Hand.

Ancient and Modern

Constructed from ancient architecture dating back to before the Nameless Age, this regal and historical district is one of two in the city to feature this ancient foundation. The other, being the Ruined District, stands as the polar opposite to the opulence of the Alabaster Terrace, being undeveloped, unkept, and ever falling into further ruin.   Though plans were once put in place to make restoration efforts in this forgotten district, these plans were halted indefinitely in favor of developing the Alabaster Terrace instead.

Open Terrace

The Alabaster Terrace is limited only to members of the Alabaster Hand, as well as any who bear important connections to the ruling power, including the clergy of the church of Atreimus, the Purifier, as Castle Amsa has been largely converted into a monument to the protector god. Nobility of Aurel are permitted to pass through the Terrace, but not to linger overlong.   The Terrace is opened to the general public only during specific events, including holy days and celebrations of the kingdom, an event referred to as Open Terrace. Rarely, these public events will permit the public access to Castle Amsa for the purpose of prayer and worship of the relics housed within.
Inscriptions of the Arcane
Much of the Alabaster Terrace is built with its historical framework proudly on display, showcasing the architecture left behind by the Antecedents. Many of the exposed surfaces of these ruins bore inscriptions and icons, only some of which could be translated through ages of study.   Though the language spoken and read in the Kingdom of Arsavela is one of the closest to the ancient language of the Antecedents, time has caused the language to evolve and drift too far from its ancestor, both in terms of spoken syntax and in written glyphs, for reliable translations to be possible without additional references.
A blend of ancient and modern, a bastion of faith in Arsavela.

Modern Living
The walls which separate this district from the others are both a physical barrier and a divider between vastly different architectural forms. The Gold Quarter, in particular, which houses Aurel's nobility is brimming with new construction. Most traces of the past are deconstructed, flattened to make space for brand new architecture in the pursuit of modern living.   Other districts aren't so keen to bulldoze history, but still prefer to build anew instead of take time to preserve ruins to build with or around them.
