Etelamiri Ethnicity in Lyra | World Anvil

Etelamiri

The Etelamiri are a sub culture of the Lamiri island people living in the idyllic islands of the Thermin Sea.   For hundreds of years the Etelamiri lived close and in good relations with the Shuren Vulpe people. This cohabitation has created a loving society of multi nuclear families of both species, working living and loving life and each other under the same roof.   The Etelamiri are known for their hospitality and very often their islands become a destination for nobles and freemen of the Theban Empire Currency alike.   Widely know for having interspecies relations and forming interspecies families between Anthros and Vulpe and even more so for the explicit and highly sought after erotic story books.

Ajurari Story books

The first Ajurari book was created around 300 years ago when AJurari Anulius wrote down a journal of this love affair with Alini and Semuani his two Vulpe wives. Somehow the illustrated and quite explicit book was found on his possessions after his death and it was bought by Lord Ilitari Alisaki as a collectible. Recognising its beauty and the emotions that has caused to those reading it, Lord Ilitari decided to spent a significant amount of his wealth to print several hundreds of the 400 pages journal and send them as gifts to Lords and Ladies all over the Theban Empire.   The books became an instant sensation and during the upcoming years over 50,000 copies of the Ajurari were printed. The Ajurari because the first of many books to be printed with writing of the sexual escapades of the Etelamiri people and their inter-species couplings.   This was the beginning of a wave of people that would visit the islands as a holiday destination or enthralled by the escapades will eagerly immigrate there.

It's nice to have interspecies relationships so highly regarded, even if it's mostly for the sex XD

Ah yes, nothing like a good story to inspire visitors or immigrants. Seems like the sensual theme is very on point with the many folks that live there.

I like how a sexually themed book caused so many people to decide their vacations plans xp

To be fair - they are selling a "dream"

The article turned out to go down a lane I was not expecting XD   A really interesting culture nonetheless. I'd love to know more about what interspecies relationships (and their offspring) look like. By the way, your linked articles are lacking excerpts, so it is a tad hard to read without knowing your setting. There's a ton of setting-specific words (such as Lamiri, Etelamiri, Shuren Vulpe...). Tooltips and/or excerpts will go a long way to guide readers. I assume they may be articles to be detailed in the future, but adding short excerpts in the meantime would help imo.   I also thought the tourism hook was an interesting one. I don't see it that often in fantasy, but sexual tourism is a thing for sure.

Well you see, there are no offspring. Families are formed based on who raises the children not who makes them. The Etelamiri like their parent ethnicity are very, open in terms of their romantic relations. The are no anthros-vulpe hybridization just apparently sexual organs that are compatible.
