The Mines of Madness
Berranzo is a mine roughly one day of travel north of Saltrest. It was founded in the year 842 after people on the Burning Isles detected a rich Adamantine repository in the volcanic rock. It was an incredible profitable endevour and the mine went deeper and deeper into the island until the miners discovered something ancient, something alien - something truely horrifying
To this day, nobody knows what exactly these miners found down there, and nobody dared to investigate. After they discoverd whatever lies down there, people started going mad and quickly went insane. For a couple weeks nobody heard anything from the mine and then a dozen ships arrived in Ashroot, filled with corpses. There have been no survivers and nobody ever went back to the mines of madness.
