Printing Press

More Reading and Less Writing

I miss writing all day. Now I have to go out and actually talk to people! These machines are taking our jobs and changing our ways.
— Disgruntled Preacher

The printing press is a new technology that was invented a mere fifteen years ago in the year 1552 AA. In a short period, the printing press has changed society. While prior to its invention, the Abreanist Preachers, Vivernian scriptoriums and other organisations all throughout Lethea had to copy books by hand, now those days have ended.

Clerical Changes

After the introduction of the printing press, the Hillenistic clergy was forced to adapt. The Preachers who used to copy the books by hand were no longer necessary. They had to search for a new purpouse. Nowadays their main task is the organisation of charity events.

Invention

The printing press was invented by Lucon Morcolo, a businessman from Rean Kalph, Cherendel. After his scriptorium went out of buisness due to a rival company, he started tinkering around until he came up with a new way of copying books. After years of development, the prinitng press was born.
