Lirúlinis

Patron of the Alcheni

Of course our society is constantly on the brink of a catastrophic collapse. We scorned our god! What else could we have expected?
— Níldil Gailatíril, a Laiqí in Alsera
Lirúlinis, the Patron of the Alcheni, is the firstborn daughter of the Lady of Life, Heláia, according to the Pantheon of the Dawn. She was formed from lilacs and aspens to act as a goddess of love and beauty following her mother’s creation of the geprati. Lirúlinis embodied the strongest traits of the alcheni and therefore it became her duty to guide the young species, nurturing their growth as a civilisation. Lirúlinis has developed into one of the most popular gods within the pantheon as the faith is almost exclusively practised by the alchen and many have turned to her in hopes of countering human influence.

Goddess of Love and Beauty

All I need is a hug, some yarn, and the melancholic tunes of the cult bard
— A follower of Lirúlinis
Sehenian legends claim that Lirúlinis' influence on the ancient alcheni before their mass migration to Lethea had made their civilisation equal to none. Even the Imperium of Qerthéllnaval that followed it was but a distant shadow of its vast greatness and no other civilisation has come close its splendour. The Nehenian abandonment of the gods was said to have broken Lirúlinis heart and trust, causing her to turn away from the alcheni. Her faithful followers believe that she does still care for those who show her love and respect, but she cares little for society as a whole as the importance of religion has faded in many alchen countries.

Cult of Lirúlinis

When people think what a follower of a goddess of love and beauty might be like, many would likely imagine a promiscuous artist who probably doesn’t get a whole lot of art done as they’re far too preoccupied with the promiscuity, but that perception couldn’t be further from the truth.   Her most faithful followers are, in reality, lonesome folk who struggle to find their place in the world. The communities they form help them find companionship, whether platonic or otherwise, as they create art together in hopes that it would honour their god and in turn give them a purpose to fulfil.

The idea of a god getting their heart broken is always extra sad for me for some reason.   Also, I agree with that follower. Hugs, yarn, and music, please! :)
