Personal history

Early Life

Gretru Hretru was born on the 19th of Hillberis, 1547 AA. His father was a soldier who fought in the War of Independance and his Human mother took care of him while father was out fighting Sehenians.   As a child, he learned all he could from his father, but at the start of the Unification Wars, Gretru's father was killed by Borgze soldiers who had come to capture his hometown Hak-Tak. His father's death had turned the humane child into a heartless savage, itching to get revenge on the newly crowned Emperor of Dra'kn or his family.

Life in the Army

After his mother died of breast cancer in 1563 AA, Gretru Hretru decided to enlist in the Hak-Tak Ranger Company. The company of archers consisted of local men from Hak-Tak and it's officers, as well as the general of the 2nd Army, Gregek Kurulka. After a brief interview with the recruitment officer, he was assigned to the units scouts. Life in the army had felt comfortable to him and the constant assignments kept him too busy to think about his father and the men responsible for it.

Most of the time his job had been to stay hidden on one of the islands to the north, usually either Onti or Tanvar. The 2nd army's duty had been to clear the islands of potential threats that could potentially harm future settlements there. As he advanced up the chain of command, he began gaining the attention of general Gregek Kurulka, but his constant boasts about himself and his stubbornness had irritated the general and their relations only kept going downhill from there.

Holy Slaughter

Frustrated by his commanding officers, Hretru Gretru retired from the military in the late winter of 1565 AA. Confused on how to continue in life, he turned to the gods, praying for answers. He heard nothing. At first, the silence had made things worse, but several days later, a thought had occurred to him. The gods were silent since he wasn't worthy of their advice.

To remedy his unworthiness, he packed his equipment, grabbed his poleaxe, leaving behind his old armor, and traveled across the sea to the island of Tanvar. There he lurked behind the trees, in the bushes, sometimes even in plain sight, hoping that he could fulfill his goal of killing over 50 Kaeri.

After two long years of surviving off the land and killing the local creatures, Hretru Gretru finished off the last few pests and he found a strange human male who called himself Charles. The two decided to join forces and they searched the island for a goblin village. There, they found an old man who was offering to take people to the mainland. The two accepted the price and sailed south.

Strange Quests

Gretru Hretru took his new traveling companion to his private house in Hak-Tak, there they prepared themselves for the upcoming journey to the capital of the Empire of Dra'kn, Gobshok. Charles had told Gretru that while onboard the old man's ship, he had recied a note from a mysterious acquaintance. The note contained the instructions for completing a mission.
Oh, latest servant of mine,
Go forth to a place most high.
Rocks you will see,
the local God you will meet.
Bring the old tome to me,
With haste, now fly like a leek.
— Lord Naendiél Lathanie
Following a quick investigation in the capital, the two men concluded that their task had something to do with Dragonrock island. They suspected that the part about the local God might have been a clue that the creature they had to speak to was the dragon itself. The two rented a ship and sailed to the island. Far more than the other ones, Dragonrock had been overpopulated with the vile Kaerin, but the two managed to get the majority of them without a problem. On the 7th of Tvenor they discovered a cave that led into the mountain with the volcano. Inside the temperatures were high and both had trouble breathing, but the lack of good air had been the least of their worries. The dragon, Sorzak, had awaited them and demanded to know what the two were doing in his lair. The two were both completely inept at speaking to strangers and Grtetru Hretru's stubborn nature had gotten the better of him. When the dragon had offered his final deal, battle-hardened warrior foolishly refused and the dragon managed to bite Charales' head off and knocked Gretru unconscious. The next day he woke up and realized that the servants of the dragon had tied him up and they were about to sacrifice him in the dragons honor, by tossing him into a pool of lava. Gretru Hretru looked around, hoping that a miracle would happen and that someone would save him, but alas, his days were numbered. With a loud cheer, the kaerin tossed him into the pit and he died soon after
