Bloodleaf

I've yet to encounter a plant deadlier than the Bloodleaf. Not only is it beautiful, addictive, and capable of driving a man insane, it's also the only plant responsible for starting a war.
— Gal Edmond Velskjelhard, Renowned Botanist

Basic Information

Ecology and Habitats

The Bloodleaf prefers to inhabit areas with a warm climate that are next to a large source of water such as a lake or ocean. They thrive when they have are offered shade from the midday sun, but are perfectly capable of surviving in direct sunlight. When provided shade, the plant grows larger and the drug that can be made out of it, becomes more potent.

Additional Information

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Bloodleaf is mainly used by criminals to create highly addictive drugs. The Bloodleaf petals are placed in boiling water and left there for 1-2 hours. Once the Bloodleaf infused water has cooled down, the water would already be an effective drug, but in order to improve the effects and make the high more enjoyable, Lavender is ground up and mixed into the water.

People can drink the drug as it is or by mixing it into their normal drinks. Depending on how much someone consumed the drug will begin to have an effect around 30-60 minutes after consumption.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Most experts suspect that the plant was originally native to the shores of the Great Gulf, but once its properties had been discovered, the plant's distribution was expanded into other warm coastal regions. Since most countries began actively fighting back against the farmers who grew it, the plant's geographic distribution began to diminish.
