Bear Folk

In hidden pockets across the world, tufts of fur peak out from behind rocks, trees, and snow banks, the only marker that someone lives there. Much like others of the Animal Kingdom races, these people prefer lives left alone, seclusion from the bustle of cities and the politics that often come with those of the Elder Races. Here far away from civilization, these people often only mingle with their own, choosing families and small homes for their own peace of mind.
Ursakin are some of the younger Animal Kingdom races, the animalistic people that are still considered among the civilized races of the world. Their role in the Eldritch War was to serve as Spies for those that their elusive race had befriended, hiding as the bears that they took after and viewing the changing landscape. Ursakin are known to be an elusive species that are strong and hearty, able to climb, swim, and travel great distances while blending in with their surroundings.
Currently, they live scattered throughout the world, often living in areas that are home to the bears they resemble. These people do not have a true homeland, choosing instead to establish themselves as families in close territories instead of official villages or cities. Even families that live near each other may never cross paths as each family is its own village, only trading when their claws can no longer provide everything that they need.

Anatomy

Ursakin are not known to have inherently mystical abilities, their traits are focused on physical aspects and have to do with their bear-like physiology.
This species has many varieties in terms of fur, coloration, claws, face, and body shape. These distinctions closely mirror the types of bears they resemble, allowing them to be more fit to live in certain climates over others. Some are suited to cold temperatures, others to foraging, and others still to warm environments or social situations.
The uniting features that span all variations of Ursakin are their thick fur, dense skulls, and large claws. They are capable of fighting solely without weapons due to their claws and often fear little due to the innate place of bears in the natural cycle of things.

Social Structure

Ursakin can be found scattered throughout Isekai, often in uninhabited areas that are far away from large urban areas. While a solitary race, it is possible to find some of these people living amongst other races, but not in groups larger than single families. They prefer more rural areas, places that are inhabited by bears so that they may blend in with the creatures of the land is threatened for any reason. Some types of Ursakin such as the Ailuro are more social and prefer bustling areas, but most prefer quiet and open over urban.
Culturally, the various types of Ursakin vary greatly, much like the bears they resemble, in the ways they live and socialize. That being said, all Ursakin share some culture, including their language and their use of their own fur as a means of hiding amongst nature. These differences keep the Ursakin from fully uniting as other Animal Kingdom races.

Scattered in uninhabited places of the world, Ursakin make their homes where they can live solitary lives with their small families. Here, it is easier to be themselves and not face those who may be afraid of their stature.
