Lysanthir Character in Idyll | World Anvil

Lysanthir

I'll live the life that I want. That's the only thing that I can do.
— Lysanthir
The village of Carmine has very strict gender roles. Lysanthir noticed this when they grew up and wanted to become a Hunter, like their mother. In Carmine only females could become Hunters, because in this village they have access to special rings that only females could use.   When Lysanthir started training for a role and job that they didn't want they got a chance to touch a Hunter Ring. The Elders had said that only females could use the ring. Lysanthir had never felt like either or. But they could use the ring. Either the elders were lying or the ring knew that Lysanthir was meant to be a hunter. Lysanthir knew they would feel bad about it for the rest of their lives but they stole the ring and plans that would change their life were hatched.

Family

Lysanthir was born into a family of 6. They had two older brothers and one younger sister. Their father is a village elder and their mother a hunter. Lysanthir looked up to their mother, wanted to work as a hunter as well but instead, their sister was chosen to take on her mother's ring when it was time.   Lysanthir also grew up with a couple of family pets that they loved, which was another reason they wanted to become a hunter.

Friends

As a small child Lysanthir had a couple of friends they enjoyed playing with, but the older they got the less of them they wanted to hang around. Their society changed their friend's opinions of things that Lysanthir could not agree with.

EDUCATION

Lysanthir wanted to be educated as a hunter but the village elders refused to teach them how to, instead, they got taught how to read and write in preparation for becoming an elder and taking care of an Other .
