Festival of Flowers Tradition / Ritual in Fillimet | World Anvil

Festival of Flowers

The Festival of Flowers is a religious festival of the Three Songs. Time is spent with family and close friends cooking, eating, and reminiscing on past memories and blessings. The Festival also encourages celebrants to begin new projects and prepare a foundation for these future plans.

Execution

The Festival of Flowers is a reminder to celebrate past successes while preparing for the future. Family and friends will remind each other of shared experiences throughout the past year and frequently even longer, intermingled with well wishes for future hopes and dreams. Many faithful visit the House of Flowers during the Festival to petition answers or blessings from the prophets of the Three Songs to support past or future projects.

Participants

The Festival of Flowers is observed by all followers of the Three Songs. The Festival itself centers around the prophets of the Goddesses at House of Flowers as faithful petitioners from across Fillimet travel to request clarity from the Goddesses themselves.

Observance

The first two days of the Sagewood bloom cycle are spent in preparation for the three day Festival of Flowers celebration. Starting on the third day of blooming and continuing for another two days celebrants feast and pray with families and loved ones. Those with family at the House of Flowers include their prophet relatives in the celebrations by bringing food and offerings for the prophets and the Goddesses of the Three Songs.

An interesting festival, but I found that the article had a lot of repetition. I'm pretty sure you could half the word count by half and still have the same amount of information. This is my personal opinion, but as a reader, it gets really tiring to read the same thing over and over again.   Example of sentences that just repeat previous information & don't really add new information:

  • Time is spent with family and close friends cooking, eating, and reminiscing on past memories and blessings
  • The Festival is spent with family and close friends, feasting and reflecting on memories and blessings throughout the past year or more.
  • It is a time of thankfulness, family, and new beginnings.

Thank you. Clearly I was tired when I wrote this and will need to redo it. (Probably not today unfortunately as the baby was up all night and I don't want to compound the problem. :X)   Thank you again for bringing this to my attention!

No worries, happy to be able to help, even if just a bit. Go get some sleep ;)

First cut. Will come back later to see if I did enough but it's a step in the right direction now.   Thanks again, btw.
