Lorgan's Notes: Snake's Den Bestiary
Terrifying creatures inhabit the Evenacht, and the Snake's Den is no different. I myself have encountered many of these desert-dwelling animals, and I know one must be prepared to face them.
And, dear Finder, don't think, because you're a ghost, that living, breathing creatures pose no threat to you. You're wrong, and you don't want to end up succumbing to the Final Death because you didn't realize that a big cat can suck you dry of energy.
While the Snake's Den is fierce, not all the monsters are large, angry beasts. Some are small but pack a punch.

Greddel
Greddels are the remains of ghosts who succumbed to the Final Death without proper rites. These unthinking bits of essence hunger for energy to sustain themselves, and are a danger to any ghostly source they sense.

Worm Snake
Worm snakes mimic the curl worm. When natives or animals visit the curl colonies to obtain the antibiotic secretion they produce, the snakes inject venom into the unlucky. They burrow into the rotting flesh of their prey, then lay eggs in the carcass,

Djord
Djords are shy nocturnal foragers of evenachtis ryiam-rich insects. They will run at first provocation, leaving behind a secretion mixed with dung. The stink will make the living and the ghostly dizzy and nauseous, and can cause further harm if breathed in quantity

The Snake
I believe the Snake is a mythical ghost, but the nomadic peoples of the Snake's Den consider him a deity. He lives in the Snake's Den ruins, though casual travelers across the desert claim he's appeared to them when they seek cover beneath a rock outcropping, and then realize it's his monstrous hood.
