The Cutting of Ark

No one knows exactly what escalated the world over the edge, many assume it was an attempt at power within the old Company who held residence here. No doubt exaserbated by the onset of the Melancholic Lacuna. In a single night of fire and bloodshed, the grand arches feel. Since that day, only we remain.

During the Lacuna, WorldBiotic Inc. embroiled itself in a company-wide civil war that brought many of the arcologies crashing down into the valley below. After that, the only survivors were the ones that created the settlement of Kainga.

This main aggressor of the war, known as Hydra, still lives in the arcology ruins that Kainga is built on. It is said the Hydra used an unbelievably great power to decimate its opponents before they could even react. Less of a conflict, and more of a purge.

Since the Cutting, the entirety of the Waimana Valley has been covered in an impenetrable layer of stormclouds until just recently.

Altercations

Initial Strikes

After negotiations between the Hydra and its opposition broke down, conflict immediately arose from the arcologies. Explosions, gunfire, and Meta flares erupted from the Arks spanning the valley. What the fight was ultimatly about, only speculations can be made.

The Retreat

The Hydra faced unyielding resistance and was forced to retreat downwards into the Arcology. Pinned at the bottom of the largest Ark, the Hydra took its opposition down in a final devestating move that shattered what society lingered.

The Cutting

No one exactly knows what power was used, or how many lost their lives, but the Hydra used its power to slice through the arcology to completely severe the upper arch. The ruins of the fallen arch lay in a line across the Waimana Valley.
