Eternal City
The Eternal City was once the heart of the Eternal Realm, the divine capital from which The Seven governed existence itself. A city of unparalleled majesty, it was built from pure Eternal Essence, radiating cosmic energy and order. Every structure, every street, and every monument was a reflection of The Seven’s divine will. However, in the wake of the Calamity, the Eternal City fell into ruin, becoming a shattered relic of what was once the most powerful seat of authority in the Eternal Universe.
Origins and Purpose
The Eternal City was not just a settlement but a perfect manifestation of divine law and creation. It was not formed in an instant but crafted with deliberate precision by The Seven, who wove its foundations from pure Eternal Essence. Each of them contributed a unique aspect to its design, ensuring that it reflected their divine authority and the cosmic balance they sought to maintain. It was the first city ever built, designed as the axis of existence, a place where The Seven could directly oversee the balance of the universe. Unlike mortal civilizations that grow and evolve, the Eternal City was created in its ultimate form, without the need for expansion or change.
From its towering spires, The Seven issued their decrees, shaping the fate of worlds and appointing their Eternal Servants to enact their will across the planes. The city also served as a meeting place where cosmic entities gathered to witness the grand design of creation unfold.
Structure and Features
Before its fall, the Eternal City was described in ancient records and Magisterial texts as a place of absolute perfection, where light never faded and shadows did not exist. Its architecture was composed of luminous, shifting materials, molded from Eternal Essence itself. Some of its most significant structures included:
- The Throne of The Seven – The grand seat of power where The Seven convened to discuss cosmic matters.
- The Vault of Knowledge – An infinite repository of wisdom and history, containing records of all creation.
- The Tower of Judgment – A monument where The Seven rendered their divine verdicts upon Eternals and Servants alike.
- The Gate of Ascendance – A colossal gateway that allowed only the most worthy beings to enter the higher realms of existence.
- The Wells of Essence – Vast reservoirs of raw Eternal Essence, from which The Seven drew their power to shape existence.
- The Celestial Gateways – Portals that allowed access to different planes of existence, used by the Eternal Servants to carry out their divine duties.
The Fall of the Eternal City
The Eternal War devastated the Eternal City. When the Rebel Ones rose against The Seven, they brought their conflict into the heart of divine power. The very foundations of reality trembled as titanic battles erupted within the city's sacred streets. Eternal Shards clashed, rifts tore through existence, and the once-pristine architecture was sundered by the unchecked forces unleashed during the war.
The climax came with the detonation of the Unstable Shard, an act of both desperation and miscalculation. The Rebel Ones, believing they could harness its unstable power to overthrow The Seven, activated it in a final, reckless attempt to shift the war in their favor. However, the shard’s volatile nature spiraled out of control, leading to a catastrophic explosion far beyond what even its creators had foreseen. Entire districts collapsed into voids and once-immortal structures shattered. As The Seven were imprisoned behind the Eternal Gate, the city was abandoned, left as a hollow, crumbling monument to a bygone age.
The Eternal City in the Present Age
Few beings have glimpsed the remains of the Eternal City, and none have returned to speak of what they found. Over the centuries, several expeditions led by Magisters and daring scholars have attempted to reach the ruins, seeking the lost knowledge hidden within its depths. However, all such endeavors have either ended in failure or resulted in inexplicable disappearances, further fueling the mystery surrounding the forsaken capital. Legends tell of Eternal Servants who still wander its ruins, lost in grief or duty, guarding the remnants of their former glory. Some Magisters speculate that fragments of the Vault of Knowledge may still exist, hidden beneath the ruins, containing secrets that could unravel the mysteries of the universe.
There are whispers that the city is not entirely lifeless—that something still stirs within its depths, waiting for the right moment to rise again. Whether these are echoes of the past, remnants of The Seven’s influence, or something even more unfathomable remains unknown.
For now, the Eternal City stands as a silent, broken monument, a place of legend and lost divinity, awaiting the day when its secrets may once again be uncovered.
The ruins of the Eternal City.
