Black Dragon, Young

In the Moor's shadow a great beast lurks, and as it rises from the fetid water all you see is it's jagged outline and it's eerie yellow-green eyes at first. The smell of murk begins to burn in your nostrils, and the toothy maw that opens glows a sickly, unsettling green.   You knew you weren't welcome in this oddly vacated fen. Now you knew why.

    Features

    Affinity Anatomy : ~0.0
Within all dragons is a core of magic attuned to an element. This Affinity Core affects their natural weapons and other features they may have, and will be automatically added to their features and actions.   Black Dragons are attuned to the element of Acid, gaining affinity from the natural processes of rot or degradation.
      Acidic Vapors : ~2.0
Rather than burning it or even sloughing off, a Black dragon's glossy scales absorb and permeate with acidity in aromatic aura.   After the Black Dragon uses it's Energy Breath weapon, or comes into contact with enough acid or water to cover or submerge it, It gains a 10 ft corrosive aura for 1d4 rounds. All creatures not immune to Acid or Poison who enter or end their turns in the aura must make a Fortitude Saving Throw vs DC 18 (or 10 + proficiency + Con). On failure, those creatures take 4d4 Acid damage. On Critical Failure, they gain the Poisoned condition until the start of their next turn.
      Watery Adaptation : ~1.0
This creature can breathe underwater and can freely use its breath weapon(s) and sound based abilities while submerged.

    Actions

    Attacks | ◈ per, up to 3 a turn
The Black Dragon spends actions to attack enemies with their natural weapons. They fight intelligently, and will try to position themselves to roar or use their breath weapon, making their enemies open to attack.
    Dragon Bite | ◈ | Melee Weapon Attack, 10 ft | +10 to hit | Hit: 15 ( 2d8+6 ) Piercing damage + 4 ( 1d6 ) Acid
    Dragon Claws | ◈ | Melee Weapon Attack, 10 ft | +10 to hit | Hit: 15 ( 2d8+6 ) Slashing damage + 4 ( 1d6 ) Acid
    Dragon Tail | ◈ | Melee Weapon Attack, 10 ft | +9 to hit | Hit: 15 ( 2d8+6 ) Bludgeoning damage + 4 ( 1d6 ) Acid
      Energy Breath Weapon, r2 : ~6.0|2⥣|1d6⟳| | ◈-◈◈◈ | Targets Reflex
The dragon exhales a jet of energy based on their Affinity Core that makes every creature in a targeted attempt a Reflex saving throw. The DC is equal to 18 (or 10 + Proficiency + CON). Each creature that fails takes 44 8d8 Acid damage (or, damage equal to 1d8 x TL). On a successful save and critically successful save, they take half or no damage, respectively.   The targeted area starts as either a 30 ft long, 5 ft wide line or a 15 ft wide cone (the dragon chooses on use). The dragon may spend more ◈s to augment the breath weapon, adding another 30 / 15 ft (respectively) to the length of the breath per ◈, or widening the breathe's line/angle by another 10 ft per ◈.   Escalation⥣ and Recharge⟳
Escalation⥣: This action only starts being used after Escalation 2, or Round 2. This creature's Escalation count goes up each time the creature becomes Blockstunned.
Recharge⟳: Once used, this action takes 1d6 rounds before it can be used again. This count goes down once per round each time the dragon critically strikes a target with with a Natural Weapon.
      Curdling Roar | ◇ | Targets Fortitude ~2.0
This creature can replace one of the attacks on it's turn to make a roar instead.   The Black dragon roars in a 45 ft cone. All creatures in that range, that can also hear the dragon, must make a Fortitude Saving throw vs DC 18 (or 10 + proficiency + CON). On Failure, creatures affected gained the Deafened condition for 1d4 rounds, until the start of their next turns. On Critical Failure, those creatures for the same duration are also Frightened, and their Maximum movement speed is halved.
      Tail Lash | ◇ ~2.0
If a creature starts or ends it's turn behind the dragon, they may use their tail instinctively once per round. The dragon's tail swipes behind it (or in a reasonably designated area). On hit, it deals half damage, and the creature struck must pass a Reflext Save vs DC 20 (or 10 + Proficiency + Strength). On failure, the creature is sent flying 20 ft away from the dragon (or proficiency x 5 ft), and they start falling if they weren't already.   This is considered a Reactive Strike.

    -Tactics-

Black Dragons are known for both their isolative ways and their murderous intent, often being cruel when provoked. That being said, they're also fairly reasonable, and often have a tendency to be dramatic in ways people don't really consider. Despite being classified as weaker than other dragons, they're still strong enough to hold their own physically.   They will often fight to the death once a fight breaks out. Though, a Black Dragon may just try to avoid the fight altogether, pointing out that they can defeat a foe with ease, rather than trying to. Some black dragons, even, take advantage of this expectation, getting adventurers to do their bidding in exchange for not turning them into acid stains permanently affixed to their lair's walls.   Black Dragons often lair in Swamps or Caves. Even amongst most of dragon kind this is considered odd, but acceptable.
