Elven city on the island of
Ilvanis, in the lake,
Ellyrrevar.
The Chreösuíl
Llyrdolín was the final home of the
Chreösuíl, one of the
Chreösi gifted to the elves by
Belethör. It was destroyed by
Bárzibûl, at the end of the First Age, shortly before
Baugoth was defeated [in the first iteration of history].
The Súlanon
Llyrdolín had a
Wind Gate (súlanon) connecting it to
Níenost, which made it a valuable target during
Baugoth's final assault on
Loriléfenin. Near the end of the First Age, Baugoth sent
Bárzibûl to lay siege to Llyrdolín and capture the súlanon.
Bárzibûl's assault was successful and his forces captured and sacked the city. During the siege, Bárzibûl slew the city's ruler,
Elgaladrin, and took from him the
Chreösuíl. In a fit of malice and glee, Bárzibûl destroyed the beautiful artifact without realizing that it was the key needed to open and operate the Wind Gate.
After trying fruitlessly to open the súlanon, Bárzibûl ordered his forces to guard it against an incoming assault from
Níenost, and then he returned to Baugoth in anger, disgust, and failure.
The Strangers
Unbeknownst to the evil Bárzibûl, the adventuring group known as the Strangers had secretly infiltrated the fallen city and witnessed his fight with Elgaladrin. The Strangers found their way to the súlanon and watched as the evil
cuena sought and failed to open the Wind Gate. When Bárzibûl at last abandoned his efforts, the adventurers snuck inside the building that housed the Wind Gate.
They quickly realized Bárzibûl's mistake in destroying the
Chreösuíl. In desperation, they tried using the
Chreösanth, which they had obtained at the
Pillar of Avâriën, and it worked. The group quickly stepped into the device and then removed the magical gem from the lock after them, sealing the door behind. Then they were whisked to
Níenost, where they met with
Celebgil, king of the
Thrilgaeri, and joined the final battle against
Baugoth.
