Chreösi (kray-OH-see, kree-)
The Hearts of Belethör
The chreösi ("hearts") were three large gems crafted by the Cuena, Belethör, and gifted to the Tenir in the First Age, to help protect them — and Cimril Arnoth — from the evil designs of Baugoth.
The chreösi were said to be roughly heart or egg-shaped and as large as an actual elven heart. They pulsed gently with an inner light as though beating. Each chreös was of a different color and, though fashioned of unknown crystal, was warm and comforting to the touch.
- The Chreösánth (Heart of Being) was green, like a vibrant Spring forest or meadow.
- The Chreösíliën (Heart of Mind) was a whitish-blue, like ice or bright starlight.
- The Chreösuíl (Heart of Spirit) was perfectly clear, like the air, or the clearest spring of life-giving water.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The chreösi shared several powers in common but scholars continue to debate the details, which seem to be lost to Time, even among the Elves. There is a general consensus, however, that they imbued those who possessed them with influence over the hearts of others.
