Thrilgaerin Elf. King of the
Thrilgaeri.
Third Age
In Ceramyn of TA 3187, the
Strangers visited
Thrílgoroth on their way to
Ángorfel.
While they were in
Soth Aedir, preparing for their excursion into
Gûlgarond, the elves brought them before the king. Celebgil greeted them warmly, though they had never met him. Before they departed, Celebgil presented them with a small, ornate scroll case and bade them keep it safe, and return it to him when next they met. Unknown to the Strangers, Celebgil understood the significance of their visit and what it meant for the future. And the past.
Second Age
Celebgil led the Thrilgaeri in the struggles with
Asmgoth and the siege of
Ángorfel.
First Age
Celebgil was instrumental in the struggles against
Baugoth.
Near the end of the First Age, he was a member of the
Conclave of Light and brought the full force of his
Thrilgaeri against the armies of the Dark One.
When the
Strangers found themselves trapped in the past, they made their way to
Níenost where they met with Celebgil and presented him with his scroll. This time, it was his first meeting with them. On the scroll, in the Third Age, he had written instructions for himself in the past with the value of Ages of hindsight and reflection he hoped would ensure victory against Baugoth.
